middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« I left Terry’s Cafe New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel this week, and blogged I would never return.  I also posted the text to yelp with a five-star rating.  Hefe de Terry’s can ban me from his business without a stated reason.  I could enter, and to avoid confrontation he could serve me coffee while calling the police to have me removed for trespassing.  My only counter argument would be if I could claim he discriminated against me for something about me in the special list of can’t-discriminate-against rules.  If I were to apply the new Indiana law to the hefe de Terry’s rights he would be able to have me removed, because my presence in his business limits his religious freedom.  It’s an outrage that me or anyone else having coffee in Terry’s limits anyone’s freedom to practice his or her religion, but this text is progressing to a different point.  What is being overlooked in the widespread condemnation of the new Indiana law is that it represents surrender to gay marriage.  We freed the slaves and imposed, “separate but equal Jim Crow” is a dangerous model for what’s happening in Indiana, but at this moment I think the Jim Crow model is misapplied.  In fact I conclude with some hesitancy the law is benign, and in addition to representing surrender to gay marriage we, as a Nation, could consider a phrase as a backhanded insult to the Christians proponents of Indiana's new law, “throw them a bone”. »» about me  302-990-2346  twitter  nearlincoln@hotmail.com  contact us
