Florida collapse

Champlain Towers South Condominium Association Inc. is named as a defendant in a lawsuit blamed by Florida unit owners (alive dead and donno) for negligence in their building’s collapse. Dear kind readers: If you or anyone you know pays a membership/maintenance fee to a homeowners association, then you have reason to pay attention to the legal actions in Florida. Sincerely, Tom Doody. Champlain Towers South Condominium Association Inc. sounds like it’s an "association", but as I read it is not. It’s a for-profit company that owns the Florida building mostly in ruins. The word "association" would better describe a union of owners joined in common ownership where they own units. The action of a union of owners might be to install a rose garden that the building owners might not pay for, and the union of owners might say, "we’ll accept each unit ten USD per year", and the rose garden is installed and maintained by the building owners. This example of a union of owners is a fitting use of the word association, but as I read the defendant: "Champlain Towers South Condominium Association Inc." is not an association of this manner, which tells me in the first text of the first lawsuit . . it’s already muddy . . as a spectator in New Jersey whose future might include paying a residential maintenance fee . . eye’ll b watching . . reading.
