Heavenly Bodies . . bad

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« The Heavenly Bodies installation at the Met Cloisters Museum is good as long as it’s temporary. Longterm is a horrific distraction. As a visitor I’m supposed to be affected positively by the adult-sized mannequins with permanent high-heel feet and breasts who are supposed to inspire baptism dress. Both mannequins were female — stupid. Also stupid is the super-high-heeled shoes on the adult-sized mannequins dressed to inspire first communion. Fashion that’s not intended to be shock fashion should have some sense of TPO, and almost none of the Heavenly Bodies seemed inspired by their surroundings. One exception is the Valentino black cape mounted high above the floor of it’s gallery . . awesome. »» about me 302-990-2346 contact us
