Trump makes people ¿Happy?

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« The protests today against family separations are conspicuous evidence of how Trump’s damage will linger. Trump signed an executive order reversing his separation policy, and he said, “this is going to make a lot of people happy”. That moment is testimony to how celebrity Trump is way over his head as President Trump. There is a book I read to my kids when they were young. The story shows a dad tearing open a feather pillow on an empty windy sports field. The moment was intended to show how damage from error can not always be corrected. The kid saw very visually that collecting all the feathers and assembling a pillow again was out of his reach yet the action to make the mess was very much within his reach. “We’re going to make a lot of people happy” is Trump’s moment thinking he can corrected the error made in the White House. It’s clear enough to me the White House is outraged reconciling how the wall is not easy, and in their frustration they were struck with ¿Brilliance? motivating them to separate families. I concede a Southern Border Wall would allow the US to control immigration choosing by policy the types of cases that are allowed entry, and I understand how the White House has reason to be frustrated. “Frustration understood” still leaves me at odds with their stupid choices. Sending a mother to Florida when she crosses in Texas while her child is sent to Chicago can be compared to the feathers blown across the empty sports field. President Trump and his amigos made a mess that will leave permanent scars. The President’s declaration, “make people happy” didn’t. People are angry and they showed it with protests today. »» about me 302-990-2346 contact us

  1. Adam says:

Excellent parallel, Trump stands to break many things that will not easily be able to be fixed. The children that were kidnapped by our government from their parents still are not reunited despite a court order and executive order. NOT EASILY FIXABLE. A new supreme court justice handpicked because his previous writings show he does not believe that a sitting president should be the subject of any investigation civil or criminal until after he leaves office. NOT EASILY FIXABLE. The imposition of Tariffs that are destroying the American farming community and decimating the U.S. economic outlook NOT EASILY FIXABLE. The list can go on and on. I think my point is made. Real people and real Americans should not be happy!
