respect authority

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« I have a friend who is not likely to be swayed by the additional video evidence of Emily Weinman’s beach arrest that went viral. His thinking is regardless of the additional evidence there is no excuse for punch the woman when she was already down. The point is valid. The officer’s punch was not the best way to get Emily Weinman cuffed. The vid of the officer’s arm cocked back and releasing at the girls head attracted so much attention online. Countless people saw the video, and concluded excessive use of force, and many of those people make it impossible to be persuaded otherwise. There are enough good example of murder and excessive use of force by police, so the public should choose more carefully. Michael Brown is often listed in the examples of bad cops, but Michael Brown’s grand-jury testimony has been recreated by NYTimes per verbatim court documents, and it shows charges against the cop who killed Michael Brown were not warranted. Michael Brown and Emily Weinman should be dropped from bad-cop examples, and people should choose more carefully. Philando Castile and Walter Scott are two of the best example of guilty cops. Philando’s killer was acquitted, and Walter’s killer was convicted. If Emily Weinman were my daughter and I knew what I know now about her behaviour, I’d tell her she’s fortunate to get away with minor injuries. If Emily Weinman’s vids telling the whole story went viral, then some people predisposed to behave like Emily Weinman could learn a lesson in respecting authority. »» about me 302-990-2346 contact us
