Scarapelli NYC double suicide

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« A married couple with the family name Scarapelli jumped from a high building near the Empire State Building in a double suicide. The news has pics of white-covered bodies on 33rd street. They were survived by their 20 and 19 son and daughter. Their suicide notes and court records show they could not cope with their messy financial life. The story hit on a summer weekend, so the news was muted. The NY Post and the NY Daily News, locally-focused newspapers, gave it headlines, but Nationally and globally the news is not newsworthy. The jumpers desperately wanted to keep their financial mess from everyone including their son and daughter, and it was a secret from the son and daughter until their death. The son and daughter were New York kids and graduates of a high-priced prep school. Their classmates are rich kids, and they had reason to think they were rich kids too. In the seconds it took two bodies to leave the high building and hit the street the son and daughter flashed from New Yorker prep-school grads to parentless and broke. The pressure to keep their financial mess a secret was so severe they chose this end rather than barring disclosure. The first part of my professional life climbed in income and status then I crashed, so I have some sense of pressure of this nature. In addition I’m linked to Adam Strum whose clients are solving problems like the Scarpelli’s. The double suicide was preventable; I am saddened. »» about me 302-990-2346 contact us
