Simple takes one additional step to finally making balancing a checkbook an obsolete task. Simple’s “goal” feature lets me set money aside for lowshiprates. The money remains in my balance, but it takes it from the central display, “safe to spend”, which is good for me, because at an increasing rate I’m collecting money for DHL service that I need to hold until invoice weeks later. Simple lets me keep the money in the same account in available balance, but gives me a primary display that effectively hides the money I owe for DHL. The app is small and cool.
