ciao Alley Bank

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« The archives of this blog probably contains text of my happiness linked to my internet bank, Alley, but I’m changing banks again. An Ally rep told me I reached a level of status with the bank, so they now give me, “courtesy” if I overdraw. The courtesy includes a fee. Ally reimbursed the twenty-five USD after my protest, and then I repeated the problem days later. Dear kind readers: In the event you write checks, balance a checkbook, and take pride in your financial abilities, then you have reason to wonder why I write of frequent overdrafts while taking zero personal responsibility and describe it as a bank problem. Sincerely, Tom Doody. Prior to me given this status by Ally all overdrafts would be rejected. A couple of times per month I’d have a lowshiprates invoice post to my account, with little warning, so when I get the reject notice from lowshiprates, I move money, and pay it manually. Lowshiprates gets their money promptly and they have not complained. It’s a mentally lazy habit I developed when Ally handled overdrafts the old way. Ally has refused to reimburse my second twenty-five dollars, and they have no plans to change the policy or revoke my status. As an interim bank I opened at Capital One with plans to switch to Simple. Hana harassed me about leaving, “my beloved ally”, so if I raved about Ally in this blog the way I did with Hana then readers have reason to smile at my sudden flip flop. »» about me 302-990-2346 nearlincoln@hotmail.com contact us
