Alley Bank “courtesy”

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« Dear kind person at Ally: Jodi of your org took my call as I stood near an ATM with a white slip in my hand and without the United States legal tender I expected to have. Overnight a lowshiprates charge posted to my account. I expected the transaction, and I had the money in a second checking account I opened recently. I expected to have the transaction denied triggering a notice of failure to pay from lowshiprates, which would then be followed by me moving the money and paying the lowshiprates invoice manually. Instead of denying the lowshiprates charge your org extended me a courtesy, and covered the overdraft with credit leaving me with a negative balance in one account and a positive balance in my new account. The courtesy you’re extended me is courtesy I don’t want. In the passed your org denied overdrafts, but now you accept the overdraft. It seems you want to spare me from the shame of an overdraft, but in today’s digital banking world and mobile access overdrafts are no longer shameful for me and a growing number of people who think of banking in modern terms. I feel the courtesy you’ve granted me is outdated. Even the word, “courtesy” is outdated in modern times. Your business model of internet banking is modern yet it remains linked to the bad fashion of: “courtesy”. I want Ally to stop this “courtesy”, and I’ve been told by Jodi it must remain in place. I don’t know what to do. ¿Can you help? Sincerely, Tom Doody »» about me 302-990-2346 nearlincoln@hotmail.com contact us
