Muslim fashion

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« Burkinis are in the news with France mayors penalizing women for wearing burkinis on the beach. While religious freedom is the likely winner allowing fine-free burkini beach time I don’t think the overly-liberal surrender is best. The word, “manners” is retired from use. Anyone who claims someone violates manners is likely to get no satisfaction. “Fashion” remains alive, and is a useful word in the integration of Muslims into traditionally non Muslim countries. To the liberal who says it’s not a problem he or she should consider relaxing time on a beach with half with women wearing burkinis. The adjustment we should not wait for patiently is removal of the face covers. I think a more active message should be sent to the men whose wives and daughters wear them that masking one’s face is bad fashion. Laws to do the same are likely to be impotent, but outward statements of facemasks being bad fashion are likely to move more comfortably toward integration. This aforementioned text is inspired by my seeing a lot of masked women in Europe, and I think rejecting the overly-liberal approach and rejecting the Republican approach leaves us someplace in the middle. My navigating the middle looks like this: Muslim women wearing facemasks show bad fashion. »» about me 302-990-2346 contact us
