BLM ¿Blue? or ¿Black?

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« BLM ¿Blue? or ¿Black? This morning’s twitter trends include several: “I stand with” and ”I choose”.  It’s as if political activism is reduced to sports loyalty.  The surviving girlfriend of the armed Black man shot in Minnesota would certainly choose: Black, but if political activism was authentic even she would find her limit.  She has benefitted from good police work, and even she this morning has reasons to have a negative reaction to Blue being killed like in Dallas last night.  The sentiment in the Blue tweets captures a sense a continued unlimited amount of police shooting Black men is acceptable.  Political activism is not like sports.  When one team wins at the expense of the other, then society loses.  It’s commonly reported that people are cooking less, and we all know with our TV-thumb-remote-control experiments we’re watching more cooking shows.  Spectating has replaced cooking, and choosing one’s team has replaced effective political activism.  I have serial readers who will read this text to understand, but I predict chance readers will only get far enough to determine if I’m with Blue or Black.  Dear kind American readers only seeking my Blue-Black loyalty — fuck you.  Your shallow exposure to justice is evidenced on twitter right now, and your responsibility to the USA exceeds your current effort .  Sincerely, Tom Doody »»  about me  302-990-2346  twitter  nearlincoln@hotmail.com  contact us
