Republicans are not stupid

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« audio of this text Dear Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse: You’ve written a letter denouncing Trump as your party’s nominee.  It’s clear you predict as everyone else that Trump’s candidacy is durable and likely unstoppable after mañana’s Super Tuesday.  You claim he’s divided your party, and you threaten to take your constitutional conservatives and promote your own candidate.  Your assessment of the problem is self serving.  As a Michigan engineer and friends once said, “you can’t call it research if you already know the answer”.  You are behaving like Mitt Romney and other party brass who object to Trump, but if you had done valid research you would realize Trump is nothing more than the anger that’s collected under the Republican Party banner.  Trump is the tumor of your party’s cancer.  Your most personal-professional problem is the, “research” that tells you the people of Kansas elected you for good reason is flawed.  You have reason to fear a pause to ask: “Was I elected for good reason?”  Does it hurt to ask this personal-professional question?  The same bull shit that makes Trump your party’s frontrunner is the same bull shit that put you in office.  My advice to you: stop the politics of anger, which has left your party’s brass looking stupid.  You’re not stupid; you just rely on bad research.
