I won by default

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« “You won that argument” a twenty-something man said following our heated exchange at the Au Bon Pain register this morning with Hana.  I could see he was crazy nervous behind Hana as she paid her bill to the penny.  His, “I got a bus to catch” was followed by me saying, “we’re in a bus station”, which I followed each of his thoughtless phrases with the same, “we’re in a bus station”.  For emphasis I added, “everyone has a bus to catch, we’re in a bus station”, I turned to the few people in the restaurant and said, “raise your hand if you have a bus or train to catch”.  After my survey I said, “everyone raised their hand”.  I’m pleased with my performance, but it could have been better finishing with, “I won by default, because you forfeited”. »» about me  302-990-2346  twitter  nearlincoln@hotmail.com  contact us
