I love being a father

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« Today I asked my teenage son if he knew of the death of Aaron Rovegno, and he confirmed knowing.  I told him I learned this week via anonymous email, and I asked him if he could imagine why anyone would want me to have this information, which set the tone for a combative father-teenager conversation, “I don’t care”, and me, “I didn’t ask if you cared, I asked if you had any idea why someone would want me to know Aaron died”, which was enough for me to feel I made my point, so with a routine close the call ended moments later.  My teenager makes great effort to keep me at bay, which is common, but what is uncommon is the amount of assistance he has from family with traditional include-dad events like crisis, weddings, and reunions.  This is where my pleasure in these events begins, because my cousin cracked under the pressure to keep the family reunion a secret, and whatever pressured her to crack is a force similar to the one that motivated my anonymous informant this week to tell me of Aaron’s death.  Although I ran out of time with my late son, David, I expect time will allow a peaceful reunion with my son who is now a teenager, and when it does credit will be part his, part mine with assistance from the mysterious force behind my cousin and my anonymous informant – I love being a father. »» about me 201-490-9659 Erika mortified nearlincoln@hotmail.com contact us
