Manning was harmless; Snowden was harmful

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel «« Like all people sometimes I state my opinion impulsively, and other times delay invalidates my opinion, and my delay on Private Bradley Manning seemed to invalidate my opinion.  I said nothing about the crimes he was accused of, and even when Julian Assange sweetened the deal making it more appealing to comment I didn’t.  Meanwhile I was clicking on all headline news related to Manning including watching, “collateral damage”, the most damaging item in his mega leak, but still I was silent not because I had no opinions, but because those opinions seemed irrelevant like a debate over the pardon of Richard Milhous Nixon – ooops bad example Nixon stuff will never go out of style.  After long delay here’s my opinion: Bradley’s mega leak was harmless, and thanks to Mr. Snowden all my efforts to develop an opinion were not wasted.  All this preamble for one point: Germany and France are demanding  . . . demanding . . . it doesn’t matter what their demanding – what matters is Mr. Snowden created the occasion for these European leaders to demand something that they would not have been in a position to demand if it had not been for his violation of his security clearance.  It seems my news-reading intensity on this subject has paid off, because I hold opposite opinions on two stories that appear to be the same in the headlines, and it’s especially important here, because humans make emotional choices, “Manning and everyone like him is harmless” may have been my opinion if I blogged on this subject impulsively.  Manning was harmless; Snowden was harmful. »» about me 201-490-9659 Erika mortified contact us
