diplomatic relations

middle-age American living in New Jersey near the Lincoln Tunnel <<<  Dear Steffen in Georgia, USA:  The most recent occasion when we talked was my late son’s, David’s, death.  There were crowds of people who helped pull me out of crisis, and a few people who gave me a strong handhold.  The handhold was strong enough to get me through my loss of David, and it continues to assure me today.  I am humble enough to know I will never understand why the three most significant contributions came from lost voices from my past: Amy Peters, Nelson Graham, and you.  I have had this sense of security with me now for a half decade – life is good.  This preamble for one point:  I would like to hear from you in some form this holiday season or next.  You have reason to believe the Doodys don’t like you, and the Doodys don’t respect you, but the one voice who represents us to you is your first ex-wife, and the Doodys would not choose your first ex-wife as our top diplomat if we were seeking peaceful relations.  I hope you’ll temper this against the modest request to talk a couple of times per decade, and this holiday season or the 2012 holiday season would assure me for another half decade.  Please consider my request.  Sincerely,  Tom Doody >>> since public speaking, and posting internet comments are two things people fear, I created an email account for readers to use for anonymous comments: gmail, username: anonymous2tomdoody, password: anonymous123
