amateur journalist

A few clicks last night allowed my wife and I to find an alternate to the Marc train, which is the primary transportation between DC and Baltimore, but it has no service today, so it’s two Metro trains, a bus, and a light-rail train to Baltimore. We talked about visiting the aquarium, but I predict we’ll run out of time, so maybe mussels at Bertha’s in Fells Point. I want to advance my blogging into an amateur journalist, and Alexander Wang may be my first interview target. I suggested to my wife that we interview him together, and, “good” was her reply. Interview targets: Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Thakoon, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Manolo Blahnik, Zac Posen, Proenza Schouler, Isabel Toledo, Giorgio Armani, Frida Giannini, Karl Lagerfeld, Alber Elbaz, Stella McCartney, Paloma Picasso, Frank Gehry, I. M. Pei, the successor to Philip Johnson, Anna Sui, Vera Wang, Nicole Miller, Max Azria, Nanette Lepore, Belgium guy at Sigerson Morrison, designer for Jil Sander. My wife and I are on a Metro bus, and crazy guy near us is giving road reports mixed in with selected unrelated pieces of nonsense including: “call the police on the driver”, because the bus lurch nearly put the crazy man in my lap. This DC metro bus is very nice. I noticed all the buses were new since I lived here in 2005, and I was hoping we would have the occasion to ride one. We’ll arrive at the BWI-light-rail station soon. Also, Diane Von Furstenberg, Donna Karen. My wife and I are in our seat waiting for the Baltimore Aquarium marine mammal show. I remember this show is big time compared to New York shows we have enjoyed together including sea lions in Central Park and seals in Brighton Beach. Baltimore is nice city with great memories for me including a mid-summer rendezvous with John Patton, and I wish I could remember what year it was. I remember one of my kids on his shoulders, but I don’t remember which kid. I think the reason I can’t reconcile the John-Patton-Baltimore year is the result of multiple John Patton trips. Maybe one in the mid ninety’s with his girlfriend, Lori, in which case that kid on his shoulders would have been my 1991 born daughter, or a late ninety’s trip in which case that kids would have been my 1996 born son. My wife and I are at Captain Jack’s Landing near Fells Point, Baltimore, Maryland. Our waiter, Orlyn, is from Honduras. This visit is making me miss my brother like I have not missed him for years. The brother reaction is obviously triggered by Baltimore, but a location in only partially responsible, the primary contribution is my daughter’s unexpected words of kindness on the occasion of my call to her grandma’s on Thanksgiving. This sense reinforces what I have known for a decade. My kid’s family includes both sides of their family, and I have no business being involved in their family (except for my mother) without their consent, so I have waited patiently. Unlike most families when the mom and dad split, my kids family was united on the occasion and final services for my late son, David, and I was left out. My time will come.
